  • 2010 Camp-mak-a-dream Time

Some of you have asked if the camp-mak-a- dream benefit is still going to happen after one of its promoters , Mark Henckel, passed away. Yes, the Camp-mak-a-dream walleye benefit will continue to happen.

Mark believed in it and would want the event to continue. He and Carol believed that the camp's need to help others was a wonderful way to promote families fishing together for a cause. They believe that fishermen need to promote their love of the outdoors by encouraging activities that bring outdoorsmen, ladies and families together in a low key enjoyable way. And so Peggy Lawver and Carol Henckel will be putting it on.

The event was held on August 14, 2010. As it was in the past it was a family friendly tournament. Peggy brought her 91 year old mother to see the action and she was the official starter for the event. Never having been camping this was a real treat for her. Mark was definitely missed but Carol's son Matt and his family helped cook and fished the benefit. Many of Mark's friends came amd had a good time. One hundred per cent of the $60 entry fee was given back. Fifty dollars goes to camp-mak-a-dream and ten dollars of every entrywemt to Canyon Ferry habitat promotions.
