Fort Peck Walleye Spawn Update: April 28, 2008 added to the walleye spawn total From HEATH HEADLEY Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks BIG DRY ARM, Fort Peck Reservoir -- Today started out a little a bumpy with the windy conditions, but the winds gradually subsided and we were able to get through all our nets. We are starting to see a gradual rise in water temps ranging from 43 to 47 degrees in the upper end of the Big Dry Arm. Our nets did a little better today by collecting 21 ripe and 13 green females, but they are still not producing the numbers that we would typically like to see. We had another four that ripened up in our holding pens and were able to hold another spawn today. As a result, we were able to collect 5.7 million from some real healthy looking fish.
