Great Falls' North Middle School Fishing Club
2008 trip to
Cow Creek Reservoir
The "NMS Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs" club had a great trip on May 10, 2008 at
Cow Creek Reservoir. I can give you a hint as to where the reservoir is. It was close to Lloyd,
Cleveland(Montana not Ohio), Cow Island and Wareck, or about 3
hours from Great Falls and 50 miles of that gravel. Not the
edge of the earth -- but close. It was a long trip but the kids saw a lot of
wildlife.
Kids came from NMS, CMR, Roosevelt and Simms High
school and home schooled . Also, special thanks to David Sergent
as our cook and Dick Headley Bob Bahr, Alex Ferguson from the
local Great Falls Walleye Unlimited.
The downside is that only one fish was
caught. That was by David Barnhardt, so fishing was slow.
This is the last fishing trip of the school year but we do
have couple projects to complete like installing a handicapped
dock at Wadsworth Pond on May 31st. What a project this ended
up being. It took several grants and a lot planning to create a place
where the wheelchair-bound public can enjoy fishing. -- Pat Volkmar
