Kalispell angler Josh Emmert took over the lead in a big way in the third annual Perch Pounder Tournament.
Emmert caught a 14-3/8-inch long, 12-3/16-inch girth yellow perch out of Lower Stillwater Lake on Feb. 19, 2006. The perch is the new Montana record at 2.39 pounds, edging the old mark of 2.37 pounds caught out of Ashley Lake in 1988. Jim Vashro was at the scene and e-mailed us the photo.
